Karen,
Try using spray adhesive to temporarily attach your coasters to cork. That way your coasters will fully protect the table surface from moisture from cold drinks and heat from hot drinks, and the spikes on the stars won't ride up. Cork is mold and mildew resistant. A home improvement store should have cork in different thicknesses; ask how to cut the cork.
My preference is the back side of a finished crochet project. I like the texture. There is no wrong or right side for me---it's a personal thing.---HarriEtta

I like the right side. I dont think I would use the stiffiner. Personally I like the curled edge.

Coasters
Hi Karen
I was just ready other comments and thought of something else
Why couldn't you set the coaster betwee. Two pices of this plastic ,
heat resistant of course , or glass ant hot glue them together or a tiny s
smidge of crazy glue so it would dry clear
I know they make thin magnifying glasses and mNy other products
with plastic and glass
Try having a look around and see
It certainly would preserve your tips and beautiful coated design
Hope it helps

Hi Karen,
Definitely, the single crochet all around is the best method, and doesn't require any sprays or starch. I like the right side the best. They are really cute!! Good luck!
