Suppose to get up to 92° today. Please pray for my mom, Donna, she has a lump in her left breast that we're going to the Dr. to have checked out. We don't want it to be anything serious, she has enough with her Parkinson's and dementia, the medicine she takes is helping significantly with the dementia. We are waiting on the Parkinson's medicine because of the side effect of decreased mental awareness. A never ending cycle. Thank you in advance.

Here's a close up of the coleus plant I put in one of our pots in the shade.

I hope all goes well with your mom! Prayers going up!
    I love coleus....great picture.
Your temps are still quite a bit higher than ours...we may get 70 degrees today if we are lucky!....had pouring rain during the night.

    Good Morning Everyone

I have a wedding to go to today! It is the bride that I made the wedding ring afghan for back in April for her shower. She is my daughter's best friend and has spent countless hours at my house throughout the years. Sleep overs, parties. She became vegetarian 4 year ago with my daughter's influence. She is only 19! She is only in her 2 year of college and will continue school. Her new husband is in his 4th year of college and will graduate June of 2016. God Bless them both.

The wedding will be simple and outside. My daughter is in the wedding. We are expecting full sun later and a high of 70 degrees, so it should be a nice wedding. It will be in a local park. Ceremony and all! I made my special hummus for the wedding. 10 pounds of it! Several other women made food, too. No caterer was involved. Like I said ....very simple. I don't know who made the cake, but my son (former pastry chef from the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City) was hoping she didn't ask him LOL....He made the cake for his best friend's wedding back in March and really didn't want to do it again with out commercial equipment. Men can be so fussy ....we have to use our simple Kitchen Aids to do the task...hahah.

Well have a great day and wonderful weekend...I will try to tell you all about the wedding tomorrow!

In my very limited spare moments I've been crocheting some small items. Namely some citrus coasters.

I'm having a devil of a time making the leaves. Why? I just flat-out don't know.

Talk to you later...have a very lovely day, everyone.
    The Citrus coasters are beautiful!

Teri, when are you guys going to the play at your daughter's college? Friday night? Saturday night? I'm sure the costumes are just beautiful!!

Larisa, what is your table runner going to look like? Does it have birds?

Poinciana, I can't believe y'all already have hot weather, it's only April still! I don't mind the hot weather... it's the humidity I just cannot stand. I never could. And I've lived most of my life in the southeast where it's soooooo humid in the summers. I've lived in Southern California where the weather gets hot, but it's a desert climate with no humidity! The weather there is like heaven. Alabama is humid like Florida. Ugh ugh ugh. Thank goodness for A/C!!!

Like Larisa, I'm so glad it's finally Friday!!! I'm off on Monday, so I have a 3 day weekend.

I'm working on a ripple squares blanket, not a huge one, but big enough for me to use by myself. I'm making it in red, bright and beautiful colors! I'm using a bright colored varigated yarn every 2 rows that are in colors of red, fuschia, and orange. The pattern is sooooo easy! It's coming out really pretty!

I think coffee is not so good for me and have almost stopped drinking it but here goes...be right back! OK! I'm back and I think there is a cinnamon roll waiting to be devoured too! I used to have a cup of coffee or maybe 2, every morning and then I switched to a big mug of mocha for a while. I like that iced too! I'm not so crazy about tea but it will do in a pinch! OK I have my coffee (flavored creamer always) and the roll and my cell phone beside me so I will continue reading the posts! XOXOXOXO Patty/redhead

I think you should share , (lol) yummy!

Linda, I'm sending out prayers of healing for your mom. I'll be thinking of her, and you too.

Teri, the wedding sounds like fun! That's the kind of wedding reception I had. It was in my aunt and uncle's beautiful back yard in California. We didn't have it catered. We made all the food ourselves, but we did buy the wedding cake. It was a very simple reception and very sweet. My former in-laws were very uppity and considered it trashy and backwoods. They never did like me. I wasn't good enough for their son.

It's a beautiful morning here, but we're supposed to have thunderstorms this afternoon. Tomorrow the high is 92 and it'll be humid and muggy. Yuck.

Don and I are going to see a movie tomorrow afternoon. Not sure yet which movie I want to see. Any suggestions?

    I hope y'all have a great day!

    Shelley

    Hello everyone!
It's a beautiful sunny day again at 72° at 9am. Suppose to get up to 91° today. It was so muggy and hot yesterday but the breeze was slightly cool. My sister pulled rye out of the wheat for awhile but it just got to hot with all that walking and carrying her sack. And it just gets heavier. They are working on both of the combines. One needs a belt replaced that's quite a chore so they decided to have John Deere come out and do it. Our wheat has a mold called rust in it. And where it's at there is no grain in the heads. But couldn't afford to spray it for $10.00 an acre when the wheat market price is barely $5.00. Lowest it's been in quite awhile.
Mom has to have a mammogram and a sonogram, then see a surgeon. Both surgeons are out of the office this next week so have to wait until the following week. Ho-hum. (Sigh)

Shelley, have a great time at the movies!

Here's a close up of one of the petunias I planted in pots on the patio. Have a great Saturday!

Linda I will be praying. Maybe it is just a cyst--I pray that is what it is. It is so nice to be able to work in my flower beds. Kids are going to help me fix up flower bed in back of house by patio doors. My daughter and I went to Lowes yesterday and got some I ideas. Want to put in pavers and make an angel garden. If anyone has ideas I would appreciate it. Bless everyone and we will stick together as sisters and pray for one another. Thank you Ladies.

Susie Ann, your garden is going to be wonderful! What a great idea to make an angel garden. Maybe you could plant some kind of a butterfly bush in it? You could also put in a small bird bath and a bird feeder on a wrought iron plant holder. Maybe you can even find a small angel statue?

Thanks Pixie Glitter. I did buy a few angel statues and some stepping stones that won't be stepped on --they will be decorations in the beds. Thanks for the ideas.
