the hats for recovering patients are the same, i would just give them to the nurses at the chemo center to put out. Also there are alot of other items folks might like, pins, scarves, just about anything to make someone feel better. It didn't really bother me to loose me hair never wore a wig but i know some it really bothers. someone donated angels and they were put in a box at the front desk, you could take one when you checked in, tissue holders are awesome!!! things to keep lotion and hand sanitizer in.

Yes, that is a good idea. I had breast cancer back in 2002. I know they would appreciate the beanies. I will help, if I can. Just let us know.

I used to make chemo caps. I stopped counting at 600, yes 600.
My hands are no longer able to crochet. I made over 50 afghans
and gave them away too. I think I did my share. I am now 77 years old.
Next July 2013 will be our 60th wedding anniversary. I am looking for ward to that,

Good for you! I am NOT amazed with how generous and caring craftspeople are to others. There is a special feeling I get when I donate that is incomparable. The items I give away are a little bit of me shared with others. I get more back emotionally than I could give away in a lifetime. The support and caring and friendship I have gotten on this site are also incomparable. Love you guys...I mean girls and guys!

All the time I was crocheting the hats, I would think....Each stitch is a hug!

I would love to be added to this group. Lion Brand Yarn has a very easy free pattern called comforting blue cap. I think I may do that one, although the next pattern the spice solace cap in the reviews suggests cotton yarn as wools or acrylic blends can be a bit scratchy on newly exposed skin (this from a cancer survivor) I'm wondering if brushed acrylic would be softer? Anyone have any ideas about this?
