Can anyone advise me on how to join without it showng

Debbie, it really depends on what you are joining. When I do motifs or granny squares, I turn right sides together and slip stitch them together which creates a strong seam. Some prefer to use yarn and needle to whip stitch together. If it is a sweater or clothing, then I'll let someone else chime in since I have no experience with that. Let us know what you are trying to join together.

I have found the easiest way to join round motifs, is to join as you are doing the last round. If it is a solid round, put the right sides together and join on the back like for granny squares. Post a picture and maybe that will be more helpful.

joining seams
Thanks to all the answers on my how to join watched the videos I am now wanting advice on making a seam not so easy to see

Are you asking about joining squares together? There are lots of different ways to do that, you can Google "joining crochet squares." If you're asking about joining different colors of thread or yarn have you heard of the "Russian Join?" It's a way to join a new color without it showing. You can Google "Russian Join" also.
