Shelley....I'll definitely prayer for your friend, you never know what can happen to a person. I'll also ask for prayers for a dear friend of mine of 10 years who just found out from a recent mammogram that she has to have a double mastectomy. She has breast cancer and a family history of that as well. She's due for surgery in January, after it being postponed. Prayers can definitely help and I hope prayers work for your friend...

    Pat,

Thank you for praying for my friend Karen. I'm so sorry to hear that your friend will have to have a double mastectomy. I will pray for her.

Mammograms are so important! I haven't had one in about 4 years now. Shame on me! There's no excuse, I always seem to think I'm just "too busy" to get one. I made an appointment for January 5th for me to get one. We all need to make it a priority. It's just too important!

    Hugs,
    Shelley

Shelley.....no problem at all to pray for your friend Karen. Thanks for your prayers for my friend Lorraine. This was her second mammogram this year in August. Her cancer was staged at zero, so she was startled at the strong suggestion to have the double mastectomy, but with her family history of that, it really seemed the only option. I always get a mammogram when I get the medical notice I'm due....I've been lucky so far...and it is important....

    Hugs....Pat

Shelly, I am so glad to hear that it did not spread. I will keep her in my prayers. I just saw this as I have not been on much with so much going on these last few months.

Thank you Jean Marie.....my friend Lorraine is a dear friend and believe it or not, I've never met her...we met through a crochet forum group 10 years ago...she had wrote me a note with a Christmas afghan square exchange...we exchanged notes and e- mails addresses and we just clicked. She's always been there for me and vice versa. she lives in New York, is now retired and just recently gave up smoking when she got this bad news. I look across the St. Lawrence River from my front windows, so she is just across the river....not that far I think. She was to have surgery in December, but her Dr. got other 2 specialists involved, so her surgery is now for mid January......she has been very stressed and just wants this behind here, not that I blame her a bit....

This is for your friend Karen... I found I had breast cancer in 2014. And had a lumpectomy July 21st 2014. I decided that I was going to keep a positive attitude about the whole situation. I said there will be no pity party for Patty because I will beat rhis! I did not have to do Chemo which was a blessing. I finished Radiation treatments on Oct 2014. I went thru all them without being sick even one time! I know the Lord was with me all the way. I just had a follow-up mammogram on Dec 15th and it was cancer-free! We will all be praying for you...the more prayer..the more power! As someone on here said. Just keep praying and we will all pray too! I believe you will be fine. I know how scary it is and, yes, I was scared at first. It can be scary, but it is NOT A DEATH SENTENCE! You can come thru it with flying colors. I believe it is just another bump in life's road. Just keep in mind that God created our bodies and He has complete control and .certainly can heal our bodies.

I wish you the very best and remember I will be praying for you and others will be too...we all are praying for you . oh by the way, I will be 85 on February the 15th! . Your new friend, Patty

Patty, I remember when you had breast cancer and that you're now CANCER FREE!!!!! It's not me who has breast cancer, it's my close friend, Karen.

Karen has a very strong faith and she's got such a great, positive attitude about the cancer. She isn't afraid of the upcoming surgery and she's very very grateful for all the prayers being said for her. I'll keep ya'll posted on how she's doing. Her lumpectomy surgery is scheduled for Dec. 30th.

    Hugs,
    Shelley
