my christmas ball
My sister-in-law stoped on her way home from work today and surprised me with 2 large cones of thread. She used it in a machine at work and this new thread didn't work in the machine. They was set out so everyone could have some instead of throwing it out and she got these for me.. Love you Linda,,, Thank You!! its a really pretty gold and I made this.. tried following a pattern. no luck so I just did my own thing.. I started it out like a hat and after it covered half of the ball, I started decreasing the stitches.. when it got small enough where the ball still fit in, I left it in and decrease the stitches around till the whole ball was covered. When I was done I gave it to her as a Thank You gift. here is the 2 cones of thread and the christmas ball..

What type of yarn is it? I don't like thread and I'm always looking for Christmas ideas.

Thanks, a heavy thread might be manageable.

That is really pretty. I have never tried doing a Christmas ball before, but would like to, does anyone have a simple pattern.
