Thank you, yes I have met Smudge. This rug is for my new daugher-in-law so I can not post it on facebook because some of her friends or family may see it. The next one I'm going to make is going to be for me. I'm going to try using a double crochet and use my colors of pinks and rose. I may need to go back to the thrift store. But then all of my animals can enjoy it.

Great Job Cindy, I love the rug. Cats sitting on them make for a nice pic too.

You know the crocheting is perfect when the cats claim it. Wonderful job on the crocheting rug. Be proud!

Such a sweet feeling when the crochet project is actually finished! Congrats! I've five or six projects in the works, all in some stage of 'incomplete'. One just needs a border and I'm trying to decide which one pleases me the most. And, I'm in the first 30 rows of 'another ripple', a classic, but getting boring as I like more intricate lacy designs (really love that pineapple), they just aren't warm enough for afghans this time of year, even in California the evenings get chilly. Enjoy your lovely rugs, I can see that Tina a Tailgate are already enjoying their warmth! Our dear lab, Rosie just loves my afghans and quilts, even though I chase her off of them when I catch her!

    Cindy,
Your color choices are gorgeous. I don't want to sound critical of your idea, but I have patterns for rag rugs in oval, round, & heart shapes. They all use single crochet. I think double crochet may be too loose & leave holes you don't want in your rug. It is your rug & your time but I wanted you to have as much knowledge as possible before you started down that path. This rug you have made already is beautiful. I want you to know that. You could not have done a better job.
    Hugs, Jane
