Hi Susan, I'm a senior, too, and really notice the arthritus when I crochet so I am slow too. I did quit crocheting for several years but am trying to finish several projects that I had not finished before. Right now I am crocheting a blanket for my latest great grand daughter who was born on the 27th of this month. My thanks to all the members for their advice which I find is helping to keep the stitches straight.

Pressing sounds like a great idea. I'll try that after I finish the baby blanket. Thanks

Hey DM, Maybe you are not tightening your stitches enough. I have a friend that crochets very loose. Her pieces always look off kilter. I tried to show her how to make them tighter. I haven't seen how she is doing because she is back in school now. Maybe I will see her over Labor day.
