OHHHH they are really pretty birds. I had parakeets once, and had them a long time. but the day we moved into our new house, a cat got into our house and killed them. They had their wings clips so they could not fly. I did that so I could train them to hold in my hands. And it works too. But have some beautiful birds there.

the babies used to run and hide but now they do not do that. the mother love bird is more affectionate than the dad is but the dad will at times come and land on my shoulder or my arm. yes, they can bite you, especially the hooked bill birds can produce a nasty bite with that bill that they have.QUOTE=twinfaye;38450]I've never been close to birds but they are pretty. Are they affectionate? Do they know you? Will they come to you? See, all I have is questions. A neighbor had chickens and a rooster pecked her eye out and that put me off anything with a beek. Too scared to be comfortable with them.[/QUOTE]

thank you kowthy60! when i bought the parents--they had their wings clipped but all 5 birds have a full set of wings. i have a tall cage with a 2 story section and the babies are all over it just having a ball, plus they can look out the window too!

mine are nice, but the mother is still very protective of all 3 babies and she can be very bad at times. she will sneak up on you while you are feeding them and grab you with all of her might! bad bird, bad bird!!lol!
