Hello, TGIF! So sad about the train wreck, the earthquake in Nepal, tornado victims, our militaries helicopter crash, etc.. God be with them all and with their families. It's cloudy here with chance of storms today, 66 degrees.
Teri, so sorry for the misunderstanding with the parents. Would they be ok with just an unmarked t-shirt? My sister put up with touchy, unruly parents all the time. Such as, why didn't my kid make the starting team, you should have coached those games different, etc... never ending bickering know it all's. And they never played a sport or did only in grade school. My sister played basketball and volleyball in college, and competing in college is a whole other ballgame as they say. College coaches want you in shape when you get there, they don't put up with whining, they play the best, hardworking players. Well anyway hang in there!

Good Morning My Friends
Yesterday was a terrible day...The Pittbull from down the road came down to my house and killed and carried away my pet chicken. So sad....the poor little thing. All she ever did was scratch around and just come to you when she saw you in hopes of a treat. I was so angry. I called animal control and they went to the house and found the dog, loose, feathers in his mouth, guarding the dead carcass. My daughter was hysterical all day after that. Animal control issued 4 violations to the owner and we have a court appearance on Monday. I want that dog taken away form them. These type of people should not own a dog. Animal control felt that the dog looked under fed and was looking for a meal...yeah with my pet!
I feel that all dogs should have a home but not all homes should have a dog and that there are no bad dogs only bad owners.
So that is my story for today ....not a happy one...there are still feathers all over the front yard.

Oh Teri, I'm soooo sorry about your pet chicken. Chickens are so sweet and sociable. Until about 2 years ago, my dad raised peacocks and exotic chickens. They were all his pets and the chickens followed him around the yard all day, whenever he was working outside. His chickens were absolutely beautiful, they'd get up to about 10 pounds and had gorgeous feathers. And the peacocks were just stunning.
Sounds like that pitbull is being mistreated and he needs to be taken away. How can people be so neglectful of their animals? It's so sad.
Maybe you can get another pet chicken, or two...? I think you should. Baby chicks are so adorable!

Good morning! We have been getting rain here, a little at a time. A few thunder boomers, but ! have of severe later today and tonight.
Oh, Teri, I'm so sorry about your pet chicken. I've had packs of dogs kill my cats, and it makes me so mad. Bad enough with natural predators. I had 11 outdoor cats, now down to 3 adults. The six babies and their momma are safe in my chicken house.
Hope the show is a success despite the problems. An iris to cheer everyone!

Well.....no more birds until something is done about that dog...I have a court appearance tomorrow at 5pm since I signed a complaint, to straighten this matter up. According to animal control, the dog is not licensed and most likely no shots and running at large. Now I have to keep my last 3 ducks in the barn. That is not fair to them but that animal now knows he can get a meal at my house. The chicken was the last chicken from our NJ farm where we had 100 chickens of all types...that is why she was so special. Our NJ farm, as I had mentioned before, was a sanctuary for unwanted or abused farm animals. Now all we have left is 3 ducks. We didn't want to get any more farm animals until we find larger acreage. We unfortunately still own the farm in NJ, because when we moved to NY state, the property did not close yet and the contract fell through after we moved. So we are the proud owners of property in 2 states!!! Not a good thing though....since the house in NJ has been broken into about 6 times since we left and there are broken windows, copper pipes stolen....and I am making a long story build on my last pet chicken!!! So sorry for the ramble....
In any case, yes chicks are adorable and we had had many....but this is not the season. I am pushing for a new dog though....LOL ....we are currently dogless....and I am not used to that.Last edited by Teri; 05-17-2015 at 04:02 AM.
