My sister, Jenn, had her second ultrasound this afternoon and there was a tiny little bean with a heartbeat. She's only 6 weeks pregnant, she had invitro. Last week, there wasn't a heartbeat and we were all devastated. Turns out she's tracking a week behind, they thought she was 7 weeks pregnant, but she's only 6. Her doctor said she had a "late implantation." There are still some concerns, though, and she'll go back next week for another ultrasound. But today, we're just happy there was a heartbeat! I'm afraid to take out all the crochet I was doing for a new baby. I think I'll wait until after her ultrasound next week.

    Good Morning My Friends

Just another day in the neighborhood! I am usually pretty talkative in the morning but today not so much. Hmmmm let me think

My daughter can't wait to come home from school. She called twice yesterday to say just that. In fact she wanted my husband to pick her up last night and bring her back today just so she could come home a few hours. But then she called and told us to forget it, because she forgot she had a banquet last night to attend, to induct her into the the National Honor Theater Society!!! I don't know...creative minds are so forgetful! So we will visit her on Sunday, Mother's Day. and she can come home for summer on next Wednesday.

She speaks fluent Korean. She began teaching herself when she was in highschool, because, while growing up, she loved the TV show MASH. We have the entire series on DVD. (yesterday I mentioned we did not have regular TV programming while the kids were growing up) When she began college, she started taking Korean class. Now, next semester she was hired as a mentor for international students who attend her college. A paid position! She is thrilled! $400.00 per month! Nice....There is one dorm building on campus that houses the international students and she will live there.

Who has plans for Mother's Day? My oldest lives 6 hours away and I won't see her until I go down there for her kids dance recital in June, in fact it will be Father's Day weekend. My son will be working all day at the restaurant, one of the not so great things about being a chef is that you have to work on holidays. The restaurant he works at is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and Easter, thank goodness..when he worked at the Borgada Casino in Atlantic City, he worked all of those holidays and only the executive chefs were off. So it is just my baby that I will see....

    Enjoy your day!

    Smile morning coffee or tea

I have never participated in this thread; it looks like most of you are retired and I have yet to have that luxury. I have at least another 10 years before I can retire, but am willing and ready. I miss so many opportunities to spend with my 3 1/2 year old grandson, it makes me sad. I grab the time when I can.

I am enjoying my coffee at my desk and taking a small break to try to get involved more with crochettalk and some of the conversations. I am excited that I have some new swap partners this month for granny squares and will be getting those out soon.

I would love to hear from any and all of you and get to know you better. Talk to you again soon, let me hear from you. Becky

Good morning. I'm glad you told us about the harpist. It was a delightful experience for them.

My husband was just saying yesterday that he wanted to get a pressure washer to do the siding on the house....funny you should mention that LOL

Get him one for Father's Day. They are so useful and make cleaning driveways, patios, and the siding so easy and fast! I bought mine online from Home Depot ... free shipping, and perfect for what I need. I have the driveway, sidewalk, and three patios I clean with it.

I found out the "boo hoo" way to use just a regular old garden hose to clean the El Cheapo plastic lawn chairs. The pressure washer took the protective coating off them and I had to repaint them.

This is the one I have: (I highly recommend it)
