Wenda: What kinds of yarn r u looking for? Sometimes I find great deals at Goodwill, but not sure what you want. Let me know. I don't have books but just the few patterns I use all the time. When I downsized I gave most of my craft stuff away.

There are TONS of free patterns on Crochet Pattern central, and the yarn, thread can be purchased very cheaply at GW or any resale shop. Good luck
    Warmest regards, from Central Wisconsin!,

Don't forget to check out Ravelry.com for patterns, too. Do you like lacey things with thread, or heavier things with yarn? If I actually get sorting, I have patterns I need to find a home for.

The best day to hit GoodWill I'd suggest Tuesday. They get the majority of donations on Saturday, sort and and price on Momday and merchandise is ready to be sold there on Tuesday. I found a hardback.pattern book of crochet doilies there and they had some yarn too. Try it out.
