I get my books that I purchase here:

Buy , Sell , Search Textbooks , Music , Movies & Games Online at Half.com

They usually offer several vendors for the same book and you choose how much you want to pay. The books are usually used, some in better shape than others. Other than that, I go to my local library, I find a lot there.

Sandra, any place you buy yarn or chochet stuff usually carries books. I love my books. I print a lot of patterns from web, but love the feel and smell of a book in my hands. Try Micheals, Hobby Lobby or any of those places.Even Wal-Mart has some small ones back where you buy yarn.

I have gotten alot of my books through a book club, the kind that sends you 2 books a month.. I don't know if they even do that anymore.. Does anyone know?? and I went to book stores. If you don't want to buy, check out the library. good luck..
