This is a Seed stitch blanket that I made for myself. I always wanted to make a blanket with warm colors so I used Loops and Thread (Impeccible) yarn by Michaels.

This is my traditional granny square blanket. It has 40 squares total. I can't stop makin blankets...It's my favorite thing to crochet. Sorry for the massive pic.

That's really pretty!!

I just passed up a pattern because it had the exact type of pattern you said about decreasing over a certain amt of stitches and so on. I don't know why they just don't write out the exact pattern.
