Grandmother's Bed of Roses
This is the bedspread I made for my grandmother.
My grandmother used to crochet, but her hands won't allow her to anymore. She never read a pattern, she just looked at something and copied it until she got it the way she wanted it to be.
Since I started crocheting, she mentioned a couple of times when I'd tell her about what I was working on this bedspread made of white squares with red roses in the center of each one, and how she wished she could have made one. I kept trying to deter her from knowing that I was working on it for her each time she brought it up.
Then finally, after a LOT of stress and a LOT of time, I finished it. She LOVES it! I am so very proud of this one. It took me a year, working on it off and on, to finish this bedspread.
My grandmother finally has her bed of roses =D
PS. I do believe I will NEVER do another granny square blanket again.

Oh, I bet she just loves it. It definately was a labor of Love. I agree with you on the Squares, I hate putting them together. I started one with granny squares, still have the squares never got them all put together, and really don't care. I started it about 10 years ago.
