    Two rows put together.

It's going to be 8 across and 11 in length. Then I will be added a few rows of double crochet as a border.

I intend on adding more pictures as I go, at least the end photo.

Thank you, my fiancee picked them. He wanted a throw blanket that is big enough for him. Gotta admit tho, I hate working with black.

Very pretty. I've never done granny squares (although I am a granny, lol) because I hate sewing them together. When I'm done with an afghan, I want to be DONE. That's just me. I know so many people love to make them.

I thought I might give them a try when I saw a connect-as-you-go method, but that looked like more trouble than I was willing to do. I guess I am a lazy crocheter in my way. I don't like the last little fiddly things to do.

I'm the same way about sewing. I love to sew on my machine, but hate any handwork, even sewing buttons on.

I never gotten taught how to sew properly. I cannot say I enjoy the sewing part lol. But my fiancee asked me last year to make him a blanket, I tried, but I was no where near as skilled with the crocheting as I am now. All my squares turned out twisted and the seams fell apart cause I didn't know to sew it together then.

Once I tried the join as you go method (found it in the book "Join as you go" by the Needlecraft shop) I was hooked (pun intended, LOL). I have only done it using the regular granny squares, but there are ways for others. I have done up to 323 small squares in one afghan. It isn't as bad you think. The prayer shawl picture I posted was done that way, 4 across and 12 down. Now I am spoiled using it.
