Sawtooth sunflower throw
I made this to be included in a raffle to help raise funds for my friend Becky's husband. He has been living with sarcoma for almost 2 years now. Here is my last post in a series of blog posts about this adventure.

Follow the sun what a great reminder! Thankyou! Your work is lovely. You are a good example of how to do great things for others with crochet. Thanks for sharing.
p.s. - I loved the sun flower you came up with!

Thank you, but I can't take complete credit for the sunflower. It is a bit of a reworking of Square 26 of Jean Leinhauser's 101 Crochet Squares.

Beautiful sunflower throw. Doesn't it make you feel so very thankful for this gift God has given you when you can use it to help someone? Thank you for including the link to your blog. Your information has given me some ideas for more projects. Now I'm going to show my ignorance. You soaked this throw in soapy water with vinegar. Why this mixture?

I like to block my acrylic projects, and my favorite blocking method is (when size permits) a full project warm water soak followed by rolling the soaking wet project between towels (I was in a hurry so used the washer's spin cycle this time.
I used a touch of dish soap because I have household pets and the pollen season is starting up here (North Carolina) so there was some debris to get rid of; the vinegar is to soften the acrylic.
It relaxes the fiber quite a bit, so you wouldn't want to use vinegar on a tote or something that needed structure.

Have never heard of the vinegar to soften the acrylic but will definitely try this. How much vinegar did you use? Thanks a bunch for this tip.
