The sweater is made from bamboo/silk yarn. It's soft and shiny. The cowl has jewelry closures and is made from sparkly Dazzle with two strands crocheted together. With all the different colors in the cowl, I can wear it with almost anything. It was a fun project.

Love them! Did you have a pattern for the cowl? I would love to make one or two. Really love it. The sweater is great looks like a difficult pattern but very pretty!

Is the cowl in Solomans Knot pattern? It looks like it is crocheted with beads. Beautiful!

The cowl pattern is in the May 2011 Crochet Magazine at crochetmagazine.com. Eventually, a lot of these patterns go public; if this one does, I'll be sure to post it for you. It is mostly made of chains and single crochets. The aqua sweater pattern was actually fairly easy because it is made in strips like an afghan and then sewn together. The pink/gray one was not as easy, but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. These are my first attempts at sweaters. In the past, I have been a scarf and doily sort of girl.

Good question, Magnolia. It is a series of chains and single crochets, but the pattern did not give it a particular name. What looks like beads is probably the metallic, shiny part of the "yarn." It's quite sparkly in real life.

Amazon has a lot of the old magazines but I don't find a magazine named Crochet Magazine is it under another name? I really want that cowl pattern.
