I am looking at your website and my mouth is hanging open. You really do beautiful work. You sewed the wedding gowns and the bridesmaid dresses? And people tell me I am talented, OMG!! Your work is really excellent!!
You guys, did yawl check out her website??
Hey, Nita, on the slippers you made, what did you use in the sole of the shoes, please? I want to make purses and I can't find a good source for the purse bottoms.
Happy Crafting!!

Hello Landon! Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments! As for the slippers, I use rug backing on the soles to make them non-slip. I purchase it by the roll from the Dollar General and Wal-Mart. For purse bottoms, and to make slipper soles more stable and durable, I use plastic canvas... it's stiff and flexible at the same time and it doesn't fall apart in water. Makes the slippers washable as there is no cardboard to fall apart once they get wet.

Hi, NitaT,
I would have never thought of using those!! I ordered some stencil sheets some time back and they just aren't sturdy enough. Plastic canvas and rug backing!!! Yes, the falling apart while washing is a concern for sure, the end result has to be durable enough to withstand water.
Thank you so much!
I am so glad you joined us here. The folks on here are very sweet, down to earth and talented!!
Happy Crafting,
Landon
