Hi Jean Marie, So you make strips and sew them together to make a square then you attach all the squares is that correct?
What is the stitch you used for each strip? Is that what makes the hairpin?
It will be a big blanket when you are finished.

Hi Spoula,
Yes, that is correct. I did this long time ago. To do hairpin lace you need a crochet hook and a hairpin lace tool. There is also such a thing as broomstick lace.

Thanks for the video. When you sew the loops does the piece get pulled apart or do the stitches stay together? I could not see how your stitches looked on all those strips you made. That was a big project to take on.
I saw a baby blanket video in Spanish around 2013 with broomstick lace stitches. The blanket was so pretty I wanted to try it. I used my kitchen Turkey baster but gave up after a few times. You have a lot more patience than I have.
Thanks for taking the time to show your work and the videos.

Jean marie,
You have made many items and you shared all of them with us. You forgot about this one. You also made doll clothes.

Spoula, do you mean after the hairpin lace is taken off the loom and I sew the pieces together are you wondering if it comes apart? The answer to that is No. The 4 strips of hairpin lace I sewed into a square and I put the squares into a blanket and I had some other squares I put into another lapghan. It looks like it is in the video.

Thanks but No, I didn't forget about this one. It's the first one on the list.
