Carolyn if you go to the thread: yard sale find I wrote a step by step comment to add pictures. I never thought to mix different yarns to get texture. I learn something everyday on here.

Don't I know it. Ive seen a lot of high end retail stuff using multiple different strands of yarn, some are incredible! I'm experimenting and will get back to you.
