    And to think I have been using bobby pins and safety pens to get my elastic through what I am sewing!! Thank you to Quani for posting a pic of this and thank you to Irishjl for the explanation!!

    That would have been handy when my kids were young and I made them a lot of shorts one year. Threading the elastic through the pocket of the waist band with only a large safety pin wasn't always and easy thing to do. I had never heard of this myself.
