    Doily Afghan

Doily Afghan-a2618fb6-f5c1-43cf-93e2-ed35071a1454-jpgI finally got this one done. I had some trouble understanding the pattern at times. My sister helped me out some. I’m happy with it! Now I’m ready to try a different one!

The pattern is in the Doily Afghans book from Annie’s Chrochet. It says it measures 50” in diameter. There are 5 different patterns in the book.

It says it’s 50” in diameter. I thought it would be a little bigger. So I think next time I’d add some rounds to make it a little bigger. I have a king size bed so I’m sure that is why it looks smaller to me!

That sure is beautiful. Those little flowers plus the centre part are raised, aren't they - can't tell for sure. I don't know how to do that but I have some gorgeous oldish decorative potholders with raised flowers that my late mum's friend crocheted.

I started a "doily" but am using #2 weight acrylic + cotton yarn and a 3.75mm hook rather than the #10 Aunt Lydia thread they tell you to, where you use a steel hook. So, I think I am going to end up with an afghan instead. Oh, well. My plan is to use it to cover part of our v. old sofa.
