@dancingbaehr. Thanks very much! It is my first doily. From now on, though, I'll be using thicker thread or thin yarn with a slightly larger hook.

The woman who taught me to crochet did so with the tiniest hook I have ever seen + thread to match. LOL. She never worked with yarn, I guess; all she knew was making delicate doilies, so how better to teach someone.

That little piece of something I first made looked like the Doily From Hell. My second project was a baby's jacket with thin yarn, and it turned out good.

Hi, Jo. That was 40 years ago, at my almost-first job. I gave the baby jacket to a pregnant girl in the office where I worked. Nice of you to ask in any case!
