Thanks for typing out the pattern, Patty, I really appreciate it! I love making simple afghans. I don't do much when it comes to advanced crochet, even though I could. For me, crocheting is a relaxing and fun hobby, not something I want to stress out about or dread doing.
Thank you again.

Thanks Ada! That pattern is from Doris Ann, our very own CT friend. I've made a few round star afghans using one of her other patterns on the site. Her patterns are very nice and easy to follow.
Thanks again

Very nice. You put a lot of work into this. Your color choices just in time for fall.

The box stitch
Here is a good post for the box stitch posted by AdaBusyBee. Just pick the one you think works best for you and click on it. The one called Candy sprinkles is the one I learned from and was the one I was going to post as soon as I could find it in my patterns. I love the box stitch and the way it works up with no big holes in it.....unlike like the traditional granny square which does have bigger holes. I used this throughout the whole bedspread. Check this one out and try a small square and I think you will like it. It really is not hard to learn. Let us know what you think about it. Love, Patty

I agree with you, Patty. I like the box stitch better because it doesn't create the holes like making granny squares. It makes the blanket have more substance and lay nicer.
I haven't made an afghan using the box stitch, but I have used it to make scarves and they always turn out so nice. They look especially pretty when I use a variegated yarn, it shows off the stitches better than using a solid color.
