Loremaster, Like Pixieglitter, I also leave the tails about 4 to 8 ins so that I can weave them into the work after knotting them. Also I learned to weave the yarn back thru where I had started with the tail. That way It catches the yarn and doesn't unravel. I make a lot of baby afghans and they need to hold up as they are washed. I am making a star afghan for my daughter right now. It is worked kind of like a ripple. If you go into Red Heart.com and LionBrand.com you will find a lot of different ripples Good luck. Margaret
