My crochet work
Hi everyone, I will try to take pictures of things I made but most of my work has gone to different people as gifts so it will be hard to get them back even for a picture. Here is a little square doily I made for my best friend, together with the gift box, which I also made.

HI
My goodness, that looks lovely, makes me want to start making items from thread. Thats what my Grandmother used to do. I remember a table cloth that had the pineapple design, does anyone else remember that?.

Thank you both for finding my doily pretty. It would not have taken so long if it wasn't for everything else I had to do at that time. I enjoyed making it but I am still not finding the opportunity to offer it to my best friend.

That's gorgeous! I wish I had the patience to do that kind of intricate work !

Thanks writer_crafter! In fact, there was a time when I thought I would never master patterns like those but with some perseverance and time (lots of trial and error too! ) I finally managed to easily read any pattern and just get on with it!! There will be a time when you also will be able to do so if you persist at it.

I have yet to master the cotton thread crocheting myself. My grandmother was very good at it and made nice edgings for pillow cases and sheets that she embroidered.
I do remember/have seen the pineapple pattern just can't seem to do it and as my eyesight gets worse it seems like something even harder for me to achieve. Love the look, congratulations on a beautiful project.

hi Patti
Unfortunately, I do not have any of her crochet work, moving around you just seem to lose track of stuff. I think all I have left is a hooked rug. She used to do them from old cloths, she would dye them the colour shed wanted and then would hook the rug. I remember one where there was a house with a winding road leading up to it.

Thanks, when you look at it and think how old it is, I am in my late 60's and she was in her 40's I guess when she made it. That is a long time ago..........misty
