THE. QUILT. and the tree, and the village
I finished the quilt on Thursday, and I must say I am rather proud of myself. It is entirely hand sewn. Every last seam in it. Every single embellishment. The pictures won't show them, but I used some of the pockets, cuffs, and collars just because it made me smile to throw in a surprise for my aunt. I tied the quilt rather than quilted it. I used my uncle's and two cousin's initials and tied in that pattern.
I guess I can only do 5 at a time. If you all would like to see more let me know. I love to shre.

I will speak for everyone and say bring the pictures on. I love to look at pictures. I love your quilt and I think that there must be hundreds of quilts made using the flannel shirts. I have 2 that look very much like yours and they were made by my mother and grandmother. Bring them on!!!

My Mother-in-Law use to make quilts like that, used what ever material she had around. One thing I couldn't understand is you said you tied the quilt rather than quilt it. I know nothing about quilting so excuse my ignorance... You did a great job.
I use to decorate my house with Christmas figurines. One Time I had a train going around the village. I don't decorate the house anymore. I loved decorateing but hate taking everything down after Christmas. Don't even have a tree anymore.Last edited by MeerKat; 12-23-2013 at 06:58 AM.

The quilt is beautiful and using personal pieces (I thought I saw a cuff with a button in one picture) just adds to the quilt and makes it ever so personal. Thanks for sharing.
And yes, I learned also, you can only post five pics at a time.
Keep up the beautiful work.
