    Prayer Shawl Instructions

This one is touted by some to be the "first prayer shawl".

It may be wrong of me, but I get annoyed when I see prayer shawl patterns for sale. I reckon if it is a prayer shawl, then it ought to be free. Want money for the work then call it by another name.
Thank you for all these wonderful free patterns

I totally see your point in this. In some situations, the reward becomes a payment. I think prayer shawls are a wonderful idea, but when does it become a business instead of a ministry to others. There is a fine line in many things....

Glad you are enjoying the free patterns which were posted!

You understand of course, that ANY shawl can be a prayer shawl? The prayers you say for the person receiving the shawl are what matters, not the pattern. If that seems short, sorry, but there are so many lovely shawl patterns out there that can, and should be used for this wonderful gift to someone who is either undergoing chemo, or treatments I guess I should say, and need the love and understanding from anyone outside the issue. I have made several, patterns that were made with the idea that they would stay on the shoulders, not slip off easily, and also pretty lacy ones that could be used at any time. Good luck with your project, I commend you, and hope you find something you use for your project that makes you pleased with the result.
    Warmest regards, from Central Wisconsin!,

I made a shawl for a dear friend called Comforting Hug Shawl. We live far apart and she was dealing with cancer surgery. I felt that she could feel my arms around her when she put it on. So that's almost a prayer shawl I think. Btw,her health is quite good now. imalefty

Thank you for these beautiful patterns, Barbara and Chefmomster2. My crochet group crochets prayer shawls for hospital patients, their families and anyone else who needs them. God bless you!
