I used the Ravelry scarf pattern as the pattern for a purse it is using the afghan stitch. I tried to attach a picture but it does not show up in the preview.

I used the same pattern to knit an afghan block for Tanya in our 12" square swap.

I had to come back gals, I remembered my crochet/knit group was making scarves with attachments of sorts and hats too, things with added interest so the person could "toy" with them so to speak, I will see if I can get my link to pinterest activated for ya.

I know there is lots more, just take the time to search gals, it is available, just need to find it is all.
Came back again, went to Ravelry. You need to sign up to join, but tons of stuff available there, lots of freebies. have at it.
