    Pouch pattern

This is a pouch that I want to make. It is 2"x2.5". I hope to find a pattern for the front similar to this one. Any thoughts? It could also be a cell phone pouch that I could just shrink down to the size I want?

    Hi Nancy,
This is a solid granny square. If it is 2"x2.5", it is probably made with cotton craft yarn and an E hook (or smaller). The trim looks like a single crochet for the first round and then a shell stitch for the second round. Hope this helps.

That makes total sense. Thank you. I looked up granny square to start with and I could see other patterns as well as the solid granny square you recommended. It looks like I will now have a choice of patterns.

I do have another question. Since it is a granny "square", I can't see a way to make it a rectangle 2x 2.5"! How about you?

The picture shows five rows on all four sides of the granny square. The extra half inch could be from the shell edging or the pouch may have stretched from use.

This pouch looks like it is double crocheted, a circle in the middle, with four double crochet groups three together then one two links then then row, keep counting double crochet stitches around until size desired. Looks like a shell stitch all the around the outside.
