What do you feel are some of the benefits of crocheting?

well, I don't know that I've ever really felt relaxed per se, but it does keep my brain working.(?) lol Like others, I love the feeling of accomplishment when it's done, most of all it's so wonderful to give it to someone! Yes, they never believe you actually made it, and that you made it for them! So that becomes a benefit for both the (maker) giver AND the receiver! Such a boost for that self esteem!

One of my granddaughters told her mother recently that Nana was making afghans for everyone except her. My daugher told her I only
make them for babies and weddings and when she gets married, etc. I will make her one. Her brother's wife just had a boy a week ago. I have
had 3 baby afghans and 3 wedding afghans to make this year. I am working on the last one and I am really tired of squares.
