I have done several amigurumi projects. I love seeing yarn come to life! I love the little beings I make. The above is a teddy bear I made for my grandson when he was born and an Owl cell phone case for my niece for last Christmas.
I am now working on The Lorax for my granddaughter and a pumpkin for my grandson who's birthday is in October. I would suggest to give it a try...it is so fun to give yarn a personality!

Hi Firepxy,
I've made many amigurumi projects - animals, dolls, monsters. They are not hard, but they do take patience. There are a lot of tiny parts. All the parts crochet up easily. Sometimes it's the sewing it all together that's the fussiest part, taking lots of patience and time. But in the end they're so cute!
Yes, use pieces of yarn for stuffing, as long as it doesn't show through. Amigurumi must be done tightly, so the stuffing doesn't show. And all the yarn companies online have free amigurumi patterns now. Go for it! It's fun!
Forgot to mention: Google amigurumi and lots of sites will appear.Last edited by Ellisen; 08-20-2013 at 07:56 AM.

I too love amigurumi. I'm working on some sea animals now. Got some new patterns on Pinterest and Etsy. I had to pay for the patterns, but they were really cute. I too stuff with yarn where the stitches are more open.
