Make one that hangs a little above your knees and wear it over a skirt or pants.

I saw an ways bolero that was described earlier in this thread, by cannot find it in English.
It is as: Ravelry: Bolero en punto araña pattern by Esperanza Rosas

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used Google to translate it into English. Most of it worked, and the charts are very helpful. Do you have Google Chrome? If not, it is a free download. Good luck!

I saw that same bolero, and was so disappointed to not be able to read it. I was surprised that Ravelry would put foreign language patterns on their site.

I'm only beginning this world of crochet so my garments aren't quite perfect and look like a beginner has been loose. I love shrug patterns but they don't look quite right on me. I'm also a bigger girl. Size 2x If you find any good patterns let us know. I'm still searching.

Faye, I love your sweater. I love the color too. Did you block it after you made it? What kind of yarn. Sometimes if you re-block it you can shape it back. But if it's like a cotton, the weight of it is going to make it grow and grow and grow
Yarnoholic: Not that I want to send you away, and now I see there are 11 pages of answers, you may not need this suggestion. But I also belong to a Yahoo group called Plussize crochet. I think you would try: plussizecrochet@yahoo.com. They have lots of pattern resources in one place, and it all about making plus size garments. They have a facebook page also. So maybe I'll see some of you over there.

Gussy, keep on crocheting. We all started there. You will get better with every stitch.
