    Cheveron Edging Question?

How would you even out a cheveron stitch? If you are making an afghan, one end is even but on the other end it has the points. I wanted to make the points to blend in and become a straight edge, so when you go around the whole afghan it is a total square.

I've never done that but I think it would require some long stitches to fill in the space it order for it to become level with the points of the chevrons. Then it could be crocheted into a rectangle.--Jan

Not sure because I am new to chevron stitch my self (my niece taught me how..wish she was here..lol..HEY KIM..lol) anyway..couldn't you just go back over and decrease where you increase bringing that point in and increase where you bring together or increase..just reverse the method of the chevron pattern. I am going to call my niece tomorrow since it is late now and she goes to bed with the chickens..lol..I will ask her to see if she knows..she does tons of chevron afghans.

Hi libertylady64, I have done this before and what you basically do, is inc in your valley and cluster or dec at the point. You will have to play with it, usually you inc in proportion to what your dec has been in the valley, and dec in proportion to what your inc has been at the point. It will take one or two rows to straighten it out then one or two rows to make it look finished. I hope this helps.
