I have noticed this too. One thing I have found that helps is to rub some Voltaren gel into my hands before I crochet or knit. Also I use crafters gloves that I got at Michael's. They massage your hands as you use them. Also you could try changing your crochet technique a bit. It may also be that you have to get your hands in shape. They are probably not use to it. Hope this helps a bit.

My hands ache first thing in the morning. I take supplements - cod liver oil gelcaps & glucosamin chondroitin. Both help with the aching and swelling . If I miss taking either for a couple of days, I can really tell the difference. I think I will look at the paraffin dip and the gloves though as I'm sure my hands will only worsen with time.
