Do you happen to have this towel topper pattern?
My neighbor wants a towel topper. She said she'd pay me.
Years ago I used to crochet towel toppers and I had a pattern that I used over and over again.
I don't have the pattern with me but I remember that the pattern said to cut the towel in half and then sew it but I didn't cut the towel in half (I'm pretty sure it was to cut the towel in half); I just folded the towel in half trying to make it as even as possible. I chained an even number through both sides of the towel so that on row 5 I could crochet 2 together and then maybe there were some even rows and then 2 tog on each end of the rows. And then there's 9 sc's across row and the buttonhole row and then a couple of more rows with the last row or last 2 rows crocheting 2 together at the beg and end of row.
I got the pattern off of the computer but I don't remember where. I did look at some patterns online and one pattern said to use a smaller crochet hook to go through the towel and then use a bigger hook which the pattern I had said to. The pattern did say to crochet a flower on the towel topper and I believe there was something else you could crochet but I didn't crochet the flower or the other thing - I just crocheted the towel topper. I crocheted a white towel topper and a color that matched the towel for the edging. Maybe the pattern is on Crochet Talk. I'll look.

Jean Marie, If you are looking for a free pattern for crochet towel tops there are lots of them on the Internet. I looked out there yesterday after reading your post. I got side tracked and didn't send you a link but though of you. Sorry.
