Starting Over
The red dashes is Row 18 with 22 slsts. I was starting Row 19 where the blue arrow is. It makes for quite a wide row. Should I be starting Row 19 where the green arrow is?

Hi Lucie,
Where you have the blue arrow is where it looks like it's supposed to be but if you do that then your rows will just get thicker and thicker. Look at the picture of how it's supposed to look. For the brim of the hat they want a flap (so you can see each row). At the end of row 27 it says there should be 5 thick rows. So for row 21, 23, 25, and 27 crochet from the middle of the thick row and around the ss row. So on the last picture of the hat with the blue arrow move the blue arrow a little to the right so it will be in the middle of the thick row - That's what I believe they want for rows 21, 23, 25 and 27.

Did figure that out just by looking at it, Jean Marie?

Yes, I did not know how many times you could tear (frog?) rows apart and not ruin your yarn! I think my first topic on this hat I had gotten to the brim so I frogged it to pieces. Then, I couldn't get past row 2 for the longest time. It accidentally looked passable and I think I figured out why. Let me know what you think. I did my own version of the pattern.
I'm still learning, how can I delete the attached image. Also I save my password but have to request a new one every time I sign in?Last edited by Lucie; 04-12-2019 at 08:23 AM.

Hi Lucie,
In the pictures for rows 19 and 20 you have your working yarn on the same side. After row 19 you ch1 and turn. So on the end of rows 19 and 20 your working yarn (the yarn you are working with) should be on the opposite sides. How did you get the working yarn on the same side?
Sorry, Forget what I said. Because you turn your work after each row the working yarn will be on the same side.Last edited by Jean Marie; 04-10-2019 at 12:49 PM.

Hi Lucie,
Do you have a picture of how the hat is supposed to look?
