    Shoulder

Does your shoulder (right shoulder if right handed and left shoulder if left handed) get sore from crocheting?

No, I don't have that problem, JM. Never heard of that particular symptom. For me, if I crochet too long, my left hand gets a bit stiff and sore, and I have to stop every so often and do some little stretching exercises.

Hi Jean Marie, I mentioned that I was making a basket out of Walmart bags and the hook drags. So yes my shoulder is getting tired also because I hold the basket up around chest level and I guess that puts pressure on the shoulder.

During last year I was making so many baby items for 3 that my hand did hurt and I had to wear a brace for a few days for the tendons to heal.

My right shoulder (I'm right handed) was so sore last night that I couldn't even lift my arm to brush my teeth. I went to bed and woke up a few hours later and was able to brush my teeth and went back to bed for a few more hours. It's still a little bit sore but not as bad. Yesterday I lifted some weights we have in the basement. That might've had something to do with it but I lifted the weights with my left hand too and my left shoulder isn't sore. I can make a big circle with both arms and I can lift my arms straight up and reach up. I can do arm circles.

    Jean Marie.
I sit in a wheel chair with arms that keep my shoulder raised while I crochet. When my shoulder gets sore and hurts I remove the arm of the chair and that helps. Are you holding your shoulder raised?
Hope this gives you a hint.

My shoulder is better . Thank you. No I don't raise my shoulder when crocheting.
