@Teri. Congrats on the arrival of the granddaughter and also on coming up with that beautiful cloth figurine as a gift for your daughter. Sounds as if it was quite a challenge!
And congrats to all concerned on a wonderful home birth. My grandmother had the last of her 5 home-born children at the age of 44. On the farm, away from any town. I do not know who assisted, but I do know that some of the births were un-assisted.

Thank you MeToo....clever screen name by the way....I wanted to have my last at home be was cautioned not to at 37 years old. But my daughter lived my dream with 2 home births. I remember my mom speaking of my grandmother with 12 home births...I suppose that was the norm in the 1920s and earlier though...she was born in 1923.

Hi Teri,
Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter!! What a special thing for her daddy to deliver her! It must have been so exciting for him and such a bonding experience for him and his wife. Would love to see a photo of Sadie!!
