Please do take the tatting class. I never could "get" shuttle tatting. One day I needed something to keep me busy and tried needle tatting. It is so easy and after awhile the shuttle method just clicked.

I've never heard of needle tatting. Are there books out there?

Hi yes I use this size of thread for doilies and tablecloths and summer tops I love to use the steel hooks size 7 and 9 are my favs I crochet very tight when using thread and tight work looks nice for doilies. Be patient with the thread its thin and your project will take a little longer but its very rewarding and quite baeautiful.

I use the crochet thread to make doilies, also to make dresses for my granddaughter's fashion dolls. I also tat. I make snoods, lace, bookmarks, potpourri sachets, and I tat and crochet chapel veils.

Yes I work with both and have made some beautiful table centre piece doilies. They are usually about 22 inches in diameter but the people who have received them as gifts love them.
