    Russian crochet hook sizes

I have found a Russian crochet pattern I would like to make. My question; is Russian crochet hook sizes the same as U.S. sizes? Thanks for any help.

    Kathts,

I think that most of Europe use mm for their size hooks and knitting needles. There are some ladies on this forum that could answer that for you but in a pinch search the WEB.
There are many sites on the Internet that compares American, UK/Europe hook size for crochet and Knitting needle size. Try that first.

    Hi k1000.
Thanks for responding to Kathys question. I think the US is the only country that doesn't use the metric system. I could be wrong.

OH I am surprised about that as I have friends from England and we always had to convert things like temperature, miles, ovens, directions it was fun to do and we laughed a lot about it. Our French friends always told me that the metric system was more accurate. Well you learn something new each day and that is good.

    Thanks,

Hey, I found this on the Internet it says there are only 3 countries that do not use the metric system, I didn't know that. Isn't technology wonderful.

Which countries do not use the metric system?
    USA, Myanmar, and Liberia

There are only three countries in the world that do not use the metric system, or more formally called the International System of Units, or SI units. Those countries are the United States of America, Myanmar and Liberia.
