    The English terms for our SC is DC, and for our DC they call it a TReble. You can probably google a website that give the terms used.

    This is very interesting to me. I would just re-write the pattern so I wouldn't revert back to the American terms as I worked.

    Has anyone been to drops designs web site? They have such beautiful patterns and they have it in both. Most of the time you can just click on the american version and up pops the instrutions in that style. They don't even mind you selling the work you copy from them, AS LONG AS you don't sell the pattern and have people go to their website for the copy. They even have the explaination of the different terms.

    Anaisa -Could you post the link to the Drops Design website? That might be helpful to have a resource where both versions are given. It might help translate other patterns from other sources too.

    Its not so much a European Style but more is referring to the names of the stitches used.

    There is a difference between the European stitches and the American terms.

    European term ====== American term
    single crochet ====== slip stitch
    double crochet ====== single crochet
    treble crochet ====== double crochet
    double treble crochet ====== treble crochet

    These are the basics of the differences.

    That would take some time to get use to it. I would probably have to rewrite the patterns.

    I agree with Judy. That would mess me up terribly. I would be making them all wrong and wondering why it didn't look right! lol
