    Need help!

I havent been crocheting for long, am doing pretty well, but am stuck on a pattern and can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It is the sleeve of a sweater for my daughter.
It says to sl in each of the first two starts. Ch 1. Sc2tog (over last sl st worked and next st).
I understand abbreviations but don't understand the part in parenthesis.
    Thank you!

    Hi Ering,
From what I read, it looks like you crochet a post stitch and then crochet in the next stitch.

I think it is talking about the stitches around the arm hole.
