    Crochet Stitches?

I'm new to crocheting, still have to practice lots, but I eventually want to make a huge throw blanket like this one.

Can anyone tell me if that's a pattern made up of basic crochet stitches? If so, which one(s)? Thanks!

It looks like double crochet and yes, that is a basic crochet stitch.

I'm not sure if it's double or half double crochet stitches but it is definitely just a basic crochet stitch. It also looks like you need a hook big enough to rest on your shoulder. LOL!

It looks like a double crochet and the ridges are made with crocheting in the back loop only- look on you tube for some videos on that. It is really easy once you know the parts of the stitch.

Thank you so much for your replies! Glad to know it's a basic stitch that I know how to do. I'll look up on crocheting into the back loops. Thanks again, much appreciated!

Dpokorski, From the picture I would say it is made with a bulky yarn. That make it easier to learn, if it is you will need a big hook
like an m. Good luck. Margaret .
