    Blocking Squares

Hi I am crocheting a baby blanket that has squares. Some of the squares have bees that I did with a chart. I have to add legs and eyes and such. Do I block the squares before adding the details or will it matter. I have never done blocking before.

I'm not sure that it matters, as long as the entire bee isn't an applique. If you're just adding the legs and antennae it shouldn't make any difference. If the whole bee is appliqued, I would suggest the squares be blocked first. Also, it has been suggested that squares be blocked before you join them, unless you're doing a "join as you go" type of blanket.

Thanks for your help, The bee is not a appliqué, I plan to block before joining. The bee is actually crochet into square carrying the yarn along changing colours. I think I will try one with legs and such and one without just to be sure that after blocking the legs and such don't separate from the body.
