    You will probably need to start with using fingering weight yarn than you will have to adjust your pattern to the gauge you come up with with the yarn you decide to use. Yarn Substitution | Eat.Sleep.Blog here is a website that explains the process and the way you need to set up the math problem to fix your pattern to meet the new gauge you will establish with what ever yarn you have chosen. The article speaks to knitting patterns but the same conversion and math problem can be applied to crochet. Good luck, take a picture and share with us when you are done.
