Hello
I have link for free vintage patterns and I would like to make one of them
Crochet Bedspread Patterns | Free Crochet Patterns
But when I open pattern I see something like this
MATERIALS:
SINGLE SIZE
J. & P. COATS BEDSPREAD COTTON,
14 balls of White or Ecru.
DOUBLE SIZE
J. & P. COATS BEDSPREAD COTTON,
17 balls of White or Ecru.
How many yards? What s thread number?
Please may anyone help
Thank you

Hello, Larisa...
Bedspread cotton thread is #10 thread.
From the Cotton Clouds website - "Size 10 thread is known as bedspread weight"
Here's a link for it --- Knitting Tips, Crochet Tips, Spinning Tips, Weaving Tips - Cotton Clouds
I think the yards per ball would depend on the brand you buy. (I think JoAnn's sells it online in big 1,000+ yards size cones.)

Larisa,
the purplekitty website you got that bedspread pattern from has a link for that #10 thin cotton crochet thread, you can buy it thru them at Joann's and that site is an affiliate for Joann's, so they get a little for you buying it from them, the size you're making depends on if you need 14 for single bed, 17 for double, or more for queen or king. I know you're used to working with that type of thread so it will be a beautiful spread!

Larisa, One time I think you said you use #20 or #30 to make your doilies. #10 is just a little heavier to use. I started a bedspread when I was real young and got tired of it before I ever got the blocks finished. I hope you have good luck with your's . Margaret.

Hello Margaret! So glad to hear from you. I use #30 but if I start bedspread from #30, I will die before finish it . I want to make bedspread from #10 because of lady won't pay big price for it. She should pay for thread. Looks like she cannot afford thread. They are so expensive here. But bedspread is big and I am not millionaire wife too - Have a good day = Larisa

I am making a king size bed spread out of no. 10 cotton thread and it works up besutifully. I am at the 30% mark and expect to have it completed by the first of May nexy year. Best of luck with your project. This is a sample of what my spread will look like.
