I am not that computer literate so I copy the patterns and put them in the box on a shelf. they are in a kind of order so I know where to look. My boxes are labeled. I also have books of patterns that are also on the shelf. Anyway it is fun and that is what I like. At my age I just keep stacking and the kids get to straighten every thing when I'm through with it.

I keep a notebook that's divided into sections.

The first section is for patterns that I've written, with all of the appropriate note scratches. The second section is for ideas that I've had of things that I want to design (or attempt to design).

If I don't write my ideas down when I think of them, I'll never remember them!

I'll probably never get through my 'I want to make' list in this lifetime as right now its over 100 items and that's not counting the items that I want to design myself!

I too keep them in plastic sleeves. I also have a sketch book and graph book. I also have a scrap book; I find ideas from a cataloge and I cut them out. I refer back to them every so often and am SURPRISED at what I find, it's like a new treasure all over again. Like today, I tagged along w/ my hubby as he went to shoe a horse; and I grabbed my section on motifs and quick (I still like to think I can move quickly) got in the truck and low and behold tucked in my folder was yet another pattern I had picked up from a craft store w/ a motif I had saved because I wanted to make it sometime in the future. For me the key is to revisit them often; I like crochet that if I am 'unable' to make it, I like to look at patterns; that's why I'm happy I found this place cuz I don't have anyone to talk to about crochet; I'm the only one who does it in my family and circle of friends.

Great to have you with us Anaisa,

It is so much nicer to have someone else who shares the love of crochet near you. I have lived with others and without others around me. Now there are two local groups that I belong to, one is for only crocheters, and the other is for knitters and crocheters. Our local library allows us to meet, you may want to see if you can find others interested and try to start a small group near you. The crochet group meets in a restaurant and we go eat dinner and then have our meeting once a month....I love that.

There are a lot of people here with good experience who can point each other in the right directions when there are questions.

Looking forward to hearing about what you are working on.

That's a great idea; I have thought about it; Believe it or not I don't START conversations but I keep them going; it's very hard for me to walk up to someone and say, hi. So thanks Judi G.

I know what you mean. I have a little trouble starting conversations also with people I don't know. A flyer placed where others could see it could get your idea out, then maybe others would have the same interest. If not, we like having you here with us, which is a good way to throw ideas off each other too.

    Happy stitching.

Anaisa - Maybe someone at the library would arrange the group or if you have a park district where you are. Maybe you could inquire about it and let someone from the park or library run it.

I copy patterns and yarn pictures into Evernote. then I make notes so I don't forget what I was thinking.

I wish I were as organized as some of you are. More than once when digging in my closet I've come across the materials for a great project I totally forgot about and never started!
