Now Dollar Tree is getting some yarn

I was at a Dollar Tree yesterday and there was yarn (they haven't had it in years) but I actually did not buy anything (oh no, take my temperature). There were three kinds, Pipsqueak by Bernat, Vickie Howell's Sheepish (only in a taupe color and for a #4 it seemed very thin) and something called Knit and Knot, a novelty type yarn I had never seen before, I think by Lion Brand, not sure now. None of it thrilled me so I passed on it but then was at another Dollar Tree today (the one I usually go to, which is right across the street from my Goodwill store) but they didn't have anything yet. I asked the gal, who said if the other store got it, they will now get yarn. I am hoping it is a different type of yarn. A few years ago, they had Bernat Boa, TLC Essentials and even Red Heart Designer Sport.

Again, these stores (as well as those to donate to Goodwill) are hit and miss. But I like the thrill of the search.

    Happy crocheting!!!

Quite a few years ago, the Dollar Tree in my area had yarn for sale. I believe it was mostly the Fun Fur which I don't care to work with. Now I HAVE to go the store and check out their inventory!! (Like I need more yarn)

All I saw was what you saw but a lot of people in certain areas got Carons simply soft for 1.00 per skein with no limits per person! I didn't even see that online myself. Guess some people got some great bargains and some got nothing good unless they wanted novelty yarn, which is ok sometimes!! I'd sure loved to have some taupe Sheepish but I think they have some seconds or something since Sheepish isn't supposed to be thin, like you said. But a dollar for yarn just sounds like a good dream, right?!

Thanks for the information. I make quick trips thru Dollar Tree at least twice a month. Now that Family Dollar and Dollar Tree have joined together we should see more and more different items.

This is so exciting for me!! Gotta check out the Dollar Tree, there's one practically around the block. I've gotten lucky with some great prices at our Ryan's discount. It was Bernat, not sure of the name but it almost looks like bakery string but thicker, of course. (white with a color twirled around it) If you pair it with a solid color it works up into a pretty interesting blanket. I just finished one for my grandson's bed in a soft navy solid and a blue/white Bernat. He's 5 years old and now thinks I can walk on water because of this blanket. Just love him!!!

Someone at crochet class mentioned this today-she got several simply soft skeins for $1 each! I still have quite a stash to work on, but that was good to know!

Thank you, LI Roe! Went to the Dollar Store close to me - didn't even know where it was, had to look it up - and I picked up 4 skeins of Patons Sequined Lace in a spring green. They also had Patons sock yarn in a brown-tan-orange variegated that I didn't get. I might be sorry for that later because it would make a nice shawl if you didn't want to make socks. There was also an off brand that was blue with some fur involved, but it was scratchy and I didn't like its look. I hope they keep getting yarn!
